Wild Wind
Absolutely wild wind today. Luckily, because of my schedule, I rode this morning and was able to ride outside in unbelievable warmth. So nice to have warmth without bugs. But this afternoon, stopped at a light on my way home from work, I could feel the car rocking from side to side. The local paper shows trees down, trucks blown over. I think I will check on Tetley this evening, if only for my peace of mind.

Hope everything is OK. Wind like that can be scary.
ReplyDeleteThere were also two fires from downed power lines. In this wind those fires could have spread uncontrollably but because of the recently departed snow the ground was wet enough to keep it from going wild. Snow this morning but only an inch here.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you really are getting it, aren't you?? Allan is absolutely stunned that you can have fires caused by power lines, the setup in the UK makes that almost a total impossibility.

Wow! I underestimated the "scary" part. Glad it was wet.
ReplyDeleteNo kidding - we are so lucky it was wet! Dale said he was worried about the hay barn but it seemed intact today. Tetley is not in that barn but I am sure they would have been terrified if the hay barn broke apart and horses got loose. In fact the barn yard looked totally normal today. On my run this morning I saw lots of fences down but that's all in my neighborhood. Amazing more didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteCaroline - is that because when the power line breaks, the power is automatically cut off? (Don't know what I am talking about here:-) )
